Municipal Staff and Commission Support

The municipalities of Southern New England are facing a combination of challenges. Because of long-cycle demographic shifts, there is a very tight market for qualified Town Planners, and towns have struggled to find skilled and experienced staff. In addition, the “home rule” nature of the hundreds of small communities leaves each town responsible for its own planning and zoning matters. Smaller communities in particular often lack the budgetary resources and the volume of work that would justify the hiring of full-time staff. This is where Tyche comes in.

We have developed a strong niche and track record for providing interim or long-term staff support on a part-time, consulting basis. Our team provides regular weekly hours on-site at Town Halls to work with staff, meet with applicants, work on special projects, and manage Board and Commission business. Our flexibility and dedication to responsiveness also allow us to be available to our client communities throughout the week via phone, videoconference, and email. Most importantly, we bring a high level of skill and expertise at a level of service and a budget that communities can afford.
